The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is split into two distinct sections - Assistant Instructor (AI) and the Open Water Instructor (OWI). Many dive professionals tackle both stages at once for enrollemnt into an Instructor Evaluation - the final hurdle before becoming an ISC Open Water Instructor.

Great Scuba Diving Instructors have excellent situational awareness. They talk, a lot. They’re passionate about what they do and they abide by proper dive etiquette.
Training Prerequisites
To enrol in this course, you must first hold the Divemaster certification (ISO24801-3) through ISC or another ISO-accredited training agency with at least 60hrs of total dive time.
Medical Requirements
You must be medically fit to dive. When you enrol in a course, you will complete the medical screening form, determining if written approval from a doctor is required. All dive professionals require medical clearance to work in the industry (or according to local law).
